The City of Oakland Park, located in the geographic center of South Florida, was incorporated as the City of Floranada in 1925. Four years later, it became known as the City of Oakland Park.

ACTIVITIES

	Active Adults Programs designed for ages 55 and older, including Computer Classes, Day Trips and Arts & Crafts.
	Adult Athletics The Parks and Leisure Services staff provides various adult athletics programming, including tennis, soccer and co-ed flag football.
	Children's Programs Information on After School Care, Winter/Spring Break Camps and Summer Programs.
	Library The Oakland Park Library has adult and youth areas, computer areas, numerous information and recreational materials and a meeting room.
	Parks Oakland Park residents enjoy 180 acres of park areas, including athletic fields, passive parks, waterways and a nature preserve.
	Special Events The Parks and Leisure Services Department offers a variety of special events in different location in the City throughout the year.
	Volunteer Opportunities Learn how you can become involved in enhancing various City programs such as Library services, special events, athletic activities and assisting during emergency situations.
	Youth Athletics Oakland Park children enjoy structured and supervised athletic programs such as T-Ball, tennis, softball, basketball, soccer and flag football.
