The City of Oakland Park, located in the geographic center of South Florida, was incorporated as the City of Floranada in 1925. Four years later, it became known as the City of Oakland Park.

Oakland Park has been celebrating "Youth Day" for more than 50 years, including the longest running parade in South Florida, a craft fair and the "Little Miss Oakland Park" contest.

On Saturday, March 26, the City of Oakland Park will be “Groovin' Back to the 70’s” as we celebrate Youth Day 54!

Youth Day begins on Saturday, March 26 with the Annual Youth Day Parade at 10 a.m. Come join us at our new starting location directly in front of City Hall, for beautifully decorated floats, incredible marching bands and thousands of smiling faces as the parade winds its way through Oakland Park concluding at the Wimberly Field Athletic Complex where the days activities begin anew with live entertainment, midway games, carnival rides, incredible food, demonstrations and a fantastic fireworks display to cap off the evening.
