Oakland Park has been celebrating "Youth Day" for more than 50 years, including the longest running parade in South Florida, a craft fair and the "Little Miss Oakland Park" contest.
On Friday, March 19 and Saturday, March 20, the City of Oakland Park will host the 53rd Annual Youth Day celebration. This year’s theme is “Superheroes”.
For only the third time in the event’s 53 year history, Youth Day will begin on Friday, March 19 as we join Census 2010 in celebrating Oakland Park’s diversity. Youth Day continues on Saturday, March 20 with the Annual Youth Day Parade at 10 a.m. Come join us for beautifully decorated floats, incredible marching bands and thousands of smiling faces as the parade winds its way through Oakland Park, beginning at Northeast 17 Avenue and Oakland Park Boulevard and concluding at the Wimberly Field Athletic Complex where the day’s activities will include live entertainment, demonstrations and a fantastic fireworks display to cap off the evening. For volunteer, sponsorship and other information, please call 954.630.4500.
