The City of Oakland Park, located in the geographic center of South Florida, was incorporated as the City of Floranada in 1925. Four years later, it became known as the City of Oakland Park.

Membership &Term Length: This Board consists of five (5) regular members and one (1) alternate member from the general public who are appointed by the City Commission. The length of terms shall be for one (1) year.

Member Qualifications: Must be a resident of the City of Oakland Park and registered voter of Broward County.

Meeting Schedule: Monday, following the first 1st Wednesday of every month at 6:30 p.m.

Duties and Responsibilities: To investigate, hold public hearings, and make recommendations to the City Commission, regarding all rezoning requests, plat approvals, conditional use requests, vacations of right-of-way, Comprehensive Plan amendments, text amendments, and any other matters pertaining to planning and zoning.
