The City of Oakland Park, located in the geographic center of South Florida, was incorporated as the City of Floranada in 1925. Four years later, it became known as the City of Oakland Park.

Mission: To effectively manage the City's growth and redevelopment and to develop and implement solutions for the City's Capital Improvement Projects that promote the health, safety, welfare and aesthetic needs of the community.

Engineering & Construction Management Division

To effectively manage all construction within the City’s right of way; develop and implement the City’s Capital Improvement Program from concept to funding, project management and construction completion while involving stakeholders to minimize inconvenience to residents and restoring affected properties to an as good as or better condition.

Planning and Zoning Division

To provide outstanding customer service while ensuring that development is consistent with the City’s Comprehensive Plan and meets or exceeds the requirements of the Land Development Code.
Building & Permitting Division

To provide outstanding customer service while protecting for the safety, health and welfare of the citizens in the City of Oakland Park through the administration and enforcement of Building Codes to ensure a better built environment for all.
Code Enforcement Division

To provide outstanding customer service while ensuring uniform and systematic code enforcement to meet the safety, aesthetic and economic needs of the community.
