The City of Oakland Park, located in the geographic center of South Florida, was incorporated as the City of Floranada in 1925. Four years later, it became known as the City of Oakland Park.

Broward County Ethics Ordinance O-2011-19 requires lobbyist to register prior to communicating with an Elected Official. Additionally, the lobbyist must complete a contact log prior to engaging in any communications regardless of the method (i.e., in person, email, phone, or U.S. mail).
