SOUTH FLORIDA EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS

TUNE IN TO OAKLAND PARK EMERGENCY ALERT RADIO STATION 1680-AM

In a response to residents' requests to the City Commission, the City of Oakland Park became one of the first city's in South Florida to have its own radio station. The City is operating WQDY 1680-AM as an Emergency Alert Ratio Station licensed by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). City staff members are currently utilizing 1680-AM to broadcast news and announcements about Oakland Park activities, including City Commission meetings, the Performing Arts Program and special events such as the Youth Day and Oktoberfest.

The Community Notification Enrollment Page allows residents to supply their own information. This ensures a more accurate database and allows residents to confidentially enter an unlisted number, their cell phone number or any other secondary phone numbers. This will allow Oakland Park to reach more residents with essential emergency information.
